Safety Guidelines
Last updated: June 2026 · Contactor
Contactor is committed to a safe, trustworthy, and respectful environment for everyone — clients seeking event services, contractors offering them, and guests browsing the marketplace. By using Contactor, including in Guest Mode, you agree to follow these Safety Guidelines. The platform may be used by users of different ages, subject to applicable local laws and parental supervision where required.
1. General Principles
Use Contactor honestly, respectfully, and in good faith: provide accurate information, respect other users, avoid misleading or harmful behavior, use the platform only for legitimate event-service purposes, and comply with applicable laws and platform rules. These Guidelines apply to accounts, contractor profiles and listings, reviews and ratings, business replies, photos and gallery images, certificates, PDF files, contact details, requests and leads, reports, referrals and invites, notifications, and any other user-generated content.
2. Guest Mode Safety
Guest Mode provides read-only access to public marketplace content. Guests can browse categories, search, view contractor profiles, view reviews, view photos, view PDF files, and view announcements and banners. Guests cannot add favorites, submit reviews, submit reports, create requests, contact contractors, create contractor listings, or access account-only functionality. Do not attempt to bypass the login/access prompt or to write to user-specific data. Attempts to circumvent these limits may be blocked.
3. Account Safety
You are responsible for keeping your account secure: use accurate information, use only your own account, keep your credentials confidential, use secure authentication (Google, Apple, or a strong password), contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access, and keep your email and details up to date. You must not create fake or impersonation accounts, share your account, use another person's account, register under a false identity, or use bots, scripts, or scraping systems without permission. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts for suspicious or abusive activity.
4. Contractor Profile Safety
Contractor profiles must be accurate, honest, and professional. When creating or editing a listing, provide truthful service information; use your real business, brand, or professional identity; describe your experience honestly; choose accurate categories and subcategories; provide realistic pricing and conditions; keep contact details accurate; upload only media representing your real or authorized work; and submit your profile for moderation before publication.
You must not create misleading profiles; claim false experience, awards, certificates, licenses, partnerships, or credentials; use someone else's photos, portfolio, certificates, or brand without permission; present stock photos as your own real work; create duplicate or spam listings; manipulate categories, locations, or filters to appear in unrelated results; embed hidden contact details in images, PDFs, certificates, or gallery files to bypass platform rules; use QR codes, external links, watermarks, or embedded contact details to evade platform flows; or publish offensive, discriminatory, unsafe, illegal, or misleading content. Profiles may be rejected, hidden, archived, removed, or returned for correction.
5. Contractor Moderation
Contractor listings are manually reviewed before publication. Contractor and company information is collected from users and is not independently verified. Any verification status shown on a profile may be assigned by moderators only after manual review. Listings may have statuses such as draft, pending, approved, rejected, and archived. We may review text, categories and subcategories, service details, pricing and conditions, contact information, photos, certificates, PDF files, profile edits, suspicious activity, and user reports. If a listing is rejected, we may provide a reason and allow you to edit and resubmit. We may reject or remove content that is false, misleading, low quality, unsafe, abusive, illegal, unrelated to event services, copied, or designed to bypass platform rules.
6. Media and File Safety
Photos, gallery images, certificates, and PDF files must be safe, legal, and relevant. You may upload photos of your own work, authorized portfolio materials, real certificates, and relevant PDF documents such as menus, service descriptions, or portfolios. You must not upload illegal content; violent, sexually explicit, or exploitative material; hateful or discriminatory content; stolen images; fake certificates; misleading documents; malware or infected files; phishing or hidden links; hidden contact details; QR codes used to bypass the platform; third-party personal data without permission; or content that violates copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights. We may remove violating media at any time.
7. Review and Rating Safety
Leave a review only when it is based on a genuine personal experience. Describe your experience honestly, rate fairly across the rating dimensions (speed, quality, result), keep content respectful, and upload only relevant, lawful photos. You must not submit fake reviews; buy, sell, or trade reviews; coordinate reviews to inflate or deflate ratings; review your own listing; solicit fake reviews from friends, employees, or partners; review competitors to harm them; use threats, insults, harassment, or defamation; include private personal data; upload unrelated or harmful images; or use reviews for spam or advertising. Reviews may be moderated with statuses such as pending, approved, rejected, or deleted.
8. Business Replies to Reviews
Contractors may reply to reviews professionally. Replies must be respectful, on topic, free of personal attacks, free of private user data, and free of threats, pressure, or unrelated advertising. Where available, a reply may be editable only for a limited time. We may remove replies that violate these rules.
9. Requests, Leads, and Owner Restrictions
When sending a request or contacting a contractor, communicate only about legitimate event-service inquiries and provide accurate contact details. Owners must not send requests to, review, or report their own listings. Do not generate fake leads, spam contractors, or use request flows to harvest or misuse contact data.
10. Communication Safety
Communicate professionally and respectfully, and use contact information only for its intended purpose. You must not send spam or unsolicited commercial messages; threaten or intimidate; pressure users into unsafe decisions; misuse contact details; share someone's private information without consent; send phishing links or malicious files; impersonate platform staff; or move users into unsafe or deceptive channels.
11. Contact Information Safety
Contact information must be accurate and lawful. You must not hide contact details inside images or PDFs to bypass rules; publish someone else's phone, email, address, or social handles without consent; use contact information obtained on Contactor for unrelated marketing; scrape contact information; or sell or share user contact details. Visibility of contact details may depend on platform logic, authentication, moderation status, and safety rules.
12. Referral and Invite Safety
Referral links, invite codes, bonuses, points, and tickets must be used honestly. You must not create fake accounts to claim rewards, refer yourself, use bots or automated registrations, sell rewards, manipulate email verification, create duplicate accounts, abuse campaigns, or mislead people into signing up. We may cancel rewards, remove points, invalidate tickets, or restrict accounts for abuse.
13. Notifications and Push Safety
Contactor may send in-app and push notifications related to moderation results, profile status, review updates, requests and leads, system messages, referral or bonus updates, announcements, and safety information. Do not attempt to manipulate notification systems, unread counters, push tokens, or routing. If you receive suspicious messages claiming to be from Contactor outside the app, verify them carefully and contact support.
14. Prohibited Content
Strictly prohibited content includes illegal content; fraud or scam content; fake business information; fake reviews; fake certificates; misleading pricing or service claims; hate speech; discriminatory content; harassment; threats; intimidation; defamation; sexually explicit content; violent content; private personal data shared without consent; malware; phishing links; spam; copied or stolen content; copyright or trademark infringement; content promoting unsafe, illegal, or harmful activities; and content designed to bypass moderation or platform rules.
15. Prohibited Behavior
Strictly prohibited behavior includes impersonation; harassment; threats; stalking; fraud; scamming; review or rating manipulation; abuse of reports, referrals, or notifications; unauthorized scraping; automated account creation; hacking or attempted hacking; bypassing platform security or moderation; exploiting bugs; uploading malicious files; interfering with platform operation; accessing data that does not belong to you; and using the platform for unrelated mass marketing.
16. Platform Security
You must not attempt to bypass authentication, email verification, moderation, account restrictions, or Guest Mode limits; access administration or manager tools without permission; modify another user's data; exploit security rules or Cloud Functions; reverse engineer security-sensitive parts of the platform; or attack, overload, or disrupt the platform. Security violations may lead to immediate suspension or termination, and serious violations may be reported to authorities.
17. Data and Privacy Safety
Respect other users' privacy. You must not publish another person's private contact details; upload documents containing third-party personal data without permission; reveal private messages or client information without consent; use personal data for unrelated marketing; collect or scrape user data; share sensitive information about another person; or pressure users to disclose private data. See the Privacy Policy for how personal data is handled.
18. Account Deletion and Safety Consequences
You may delete your account in the app. When an account is deleted, account and personal user data are removed, contractor photos and PDF files are removed from storage, and reviews remain on the platform in anonymized form to protect platform integrity. Deletion does not allow a user to avoid responsibility for serious abuse, fraud, illegal activity, or violations that occurred before deletion. Where legally required or necessary for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance, some records may be retained in anonymized, aggregated, or restricted form.
19. Enforcement Actions
If content or behavior violates these Guidelines, we may warn the user; request edits or corrections; reject listings or reviews; hide or remove content; limit profile visibility; disable features; remove media; invalidate referral rewards; restrict contact features; suspend the account; permanently terminate the account; block future access; and report serious violations to authorities where required. The action depends on the severity, frequency, intent, and risk of the violation.
20. Appeals and Corrections
If you believe a moderation or enforcement decision was incorrect, contact us with your account email; the relevant profile, review, report, or listing; a clear explanation; and any supporting information. We may review the decision but are not required to reverse it.
21. No Guarantee of User Behavior
Contactor is a marketplace platform and works to maintain a safe environment, but we cannot guarantee that all users will act honestly, safely, or lawfully. Contactor does not guarantee the quality, legality, safety, availability, pricing, or outcome of contractor services. You are responsible for evaluating contractors before hiring them and for your own communications, agreements, and real-world interactions. Use reasonable caution before entering into any agreement, sharing sensitive information, or meeting someone in person.
22. Choosing and Verifying Contractors
Before hiring a contractor, take time to assess whether they are suitable for your event:
• Review the contractor's profile, photos, PDF files, reviews, and ratings carefully.
• Ask for additional details, examples of previous work, or references where appropriate.
• Confirm the service scope, dates, deliverables, and total price clearly before committing.
• Remember that contractor and company information is provided by users and is not independently verified by Contactor, so do not rely on a profile alone.
• Be cautious of profiles that seem too good to be true, use vague details, or pressure you to decide quickly.
23. Payment and Anti-Scam Safety
Contactor does not process payments and is not involved in any money exchanged between users. To reduce the risk of fraud:
• Be especially careful with requests for large advance payments, deposits, or full prepayment before any service is provided.
• Avoid unusual, untraceable, or irreversible payment methods, and be wary of anyone who insists on them.
• Get the agreed price, scope, and cancellation terms in writing before paying anything.
• Treat unexpected discounts, urgent “limited-time” offers, or pressure to pay immediately as warning signs.
• If something feels wrong, stop, do not send money, and report the profile or behavior.
24. Protecting Your Personal Information
Share only the information necessary to arrange a service:
• Avoid sharing sensitive personal, financial, or identity documents unless clearly necessary and you trust the other party.
• Keep early communication within the platform until you are comfortable, and be cautious about moving to outside channels too quickly.
• Do not share passwords, verification codes, or account credentials with anyone.
• Be careful about revealing your home address or other private details before you have established trust.
25. Reporting Suspicious Behavior
If you encounter a suspicious profile, review, message, or request, use the in-app reporting tools or contact support@contactor.me. Report fraud or scam attempts, impersonation, harassment, fake reviews, misleading information, or any behavior that puts users at risk. Reporting early helps protect you and other users, and we may investigate reported activity as described in these Guidelines.
26. Offline Meetings and Event Safety
If users meet offline or work together outside the app, they are responsible for appropriate precautions: verifying contractor identity and business details; confirming service scope in writing; agreeing on price and cancellation terms in advance; meeting in safe public or professional locations where appropriate; keeping records of important agreements; and avoiding sharing unnecessary sensitive information. Contactor is not responsible for offline behavior, service quality, event outcomes, or private agreements between users, except where required by applicable law.
27. Emergency Situations
Contactor is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger or believe a crime is occurring, contact local emergency services or law enforcement immediately. Do not rely on Contactor reports or support channels for urgent emergency response.
28. Changes to These Safety Guidelines
We may update these Safety Guidelines from time to time. When we make material changes, we may notify users through the app, website, or other appropriate means. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the updated Safety Guidelines.
